2009 until ...

Zuidnatie's position regarding activities in the port of Antwerp remain unchanged. Zuidnatie continues to work on growth in reliability and flexibility. We will
continuously offer our clients a modern and up-to-date, multifunctional infrastructure.

2006

A brand new coffee terminal for Antwerp Coffee & Cocoa Logistics (ACCL) was constructed at quay 142 – 144. Operations at this new facility
(located just a stones throw away from our Terminal Zuid) take a start.

A cooperation of Sea-Invest and Zuidnatie will result in a new 600.000m² multipurpose deepsea terminal in Flushing (Vlissingen-NL). When completed, this new initiative, will offer a quay length of 950m and 250m in width with a draught of 14m at low tide. It will cater for coventional -, RoRo - and Project cargo with the emphasis on container handlings.

2005

The infrastructure at Terminal Zuid is completed, after 8 years of continuous growth and expansion.

2004

ACCL, Antwerp Coffee & Cocoa Logistics is set up to meet demands for storage and distribution requirements for these commodities.
Yet another two warehouses are completed (15 &16).
Bringing the total covered warehouse area at Terminal Zuid to no less than : 130.000 m².

2003

Warehouse Nr 10 (fitted with racks) is completed and operational.
The Zuidnatie garage moves to their new ultra-modern facilities at Terminal Zuid.

2002

The success story continues… A further 3 warehouses (12,13 &14) are completed.

2001

European Coil Center (ECC) is set up. A dedicated warehouse and steel slitting factory (USG) is build and is operational.
A new entrance via the Narvikstraat, and a new parking area for arriving trucks and cars is completed.

2000

Phase 2 (4 additional warehouses) is completed.
May 2000: Terminal Zuid = 9 operational warehouses at one ideal location.

1999

May… The dedicated Cocoa warehouse is completed and operational. A start is made on an additional 4 warehouses at Terminal Zuid. When completed this will bring the total number of warehouses to 9 of which 3 will be dedicated.

Zuidnaties "Nickel" department moves from warehouse "Iris" to their new facilities at Terminal Zuid.

"Lotus" becomes a dedicated warehouse for tobacco products.

Terminal Zuid's two railsidings (400 m each) are completely renovated.

Zuidnatie releases their major shareholding in the Werf & Vlasnatie.

Zuidnatie NV is now one of the fastest growing port related companies in Antwerp.

1998

The fourth warehouse at Terminal Zuid is completed. and a start is made on our dedicated Cocoa warehouse.

1997

September... The official opening of "Terminal Zuid" takes place, the first 3 warehouses and office block are fully operational.

1996

Zuidnaties embarks on their biggest project yet …. Multifunctional Terminal Zuid. A total area of 200.000 m² is earmarked for the development of new warehouses and stevedoring activities.
Becomar NV (Belgian Container Maintenance & Repair) is set up to provide a comprehensive container handling and maintenance service at the new terminal.
Flatraco NV, specialised in customs documentation becomes a 100% Zuidnatie company.

1995

June… Zuidnatie obtains 100 % ownership of AML NV (Antwerp Metal Logistics) specialised in all non-ferro metals.

1994

Zuidnatie acquires the Werf & Vlasnatie. During the same year warehouse "Lotus" is expanded by an additional 8.000 m² due to the ever increasing volume.

1993

Further specialisation is required and in July the take-over of Belgian Bunkering sugar terminal became a fact. These facilities are now known as AST, Antwerp Sugar Terminal.

1990

October of this year saw the opening of Zuidnatie's second major warehouse complex. Warehouse "Lotus" is located in the Bellestraat and covers 15.000 m².

1988

Heralds the arrival of a new management team, bringing new ideas and a fresh approach.

1975

Zuidnatie embarks on a major warehouse expansion program. Warehouse "Iris" is completed. Covering an area of 11.500 m² and located at the brand new Churchill Dock, this secure warehouse was specifically used for the storage of high quality and valuable goods.

1955 till 1975

During these twenty years Zuidnatie continues to expand and gains experience and expertise in the art of cargo handling, warehousing, distribution and transport. Thus becoming one of the leading port related companies in Antwerp.

1955

A second change of legal status takes place. The Zuidnatie becomes a "NV", providing the company with the leeway required for further growth. It is with this legal identity that the Zuidnatie continues to trade today.

1945 till 1950

The economic growth after 1945 speeds up the mechanisation process. Modern modes of transport and handling equipment replace the traditional "horse and cart".
